Psalms 2

2
1

Why do nations assemble, and peoples plot vain things;

2

kings of the earth take their stand, and regents intrigue together against the LORD and against His anointed?

3

“Let us break the cords of their yoke, shake off their ropes from us!”

4

He who is enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord mocks at them.

5

Then He speaks to them in anger, terrifying them in His rage,

6

“But I have installed My king on Zion, My holy mountain!”

7

Let me tell of the decree: the LORD said to me, “You are My son, I have fathered you this day.

8

Ask it of Me, and I will make the nations your domain; your estate, the limits of the earth.

9

You can smash them with an iron mace, shatter them like potter’s ware.”

10

So now, O kings, be prudent; accept discipline, you rulers of the earth!

11

Serve the LORD in awe; tremble with fright,

12

pay homage in good faith, lest He be angered, and your way be doomed in the mere flash of His anger. Happy are all who take refuge in Him.

So I bought this set....Unfortunately they sent me 2 shabbat siddurs!! That being said I LOVE IT!!! Thank you Rabbi Siegel for recommending it.
What a week! We're hanging out with the Brewers, McCullars and Herrera's. Such fun to be with so many of our A-T family. Lots of children ranging in age from 2 - 18. We get to share Purim this week, but have to head back to reality next Monday (25th). Colder temps for sure :-( Can't encourage each of you enough to try to connect "face-to-face" with the amazing people of A-T. You certainly won't regret it!
Just a quick update on our Kings & Prophets class. Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm CST. We've finally finished up 2 Samuel and will be starting in 1 Kings. Since we're working through this study chronologically, we'll be also looking at Chronicles along with Kings. Really an interesting study. I encourage anyone to join us on this Skype call on Tuesday evenings. Hope to see you there :-)
Ze yom She-ni! Ze TOV!!!!! I was reading this week's Torah portion: Vayikra 26: 3 - 5. It says (Complete Jewish Study Bible) "If you live by my regulations, observe my mitzvot and obey them; then I will provide the rain you need in its season, the land will yield its produce, and the trees in the field will yield their fruit. Your threshing time will extend until the grape harvest, and you grape harvesting will extend until the time for sowing seed. You will eat as much food as you want and live securely in your land.
Now...I'm not equipped yet to go into a "deep" discussion on this, but this really jumped out at me because we read practically the very same words in the prayers each morning just after the Shema.
We're not just supposed to read the prayers and then go about our day like nothing special happened. Hashem expects us to put ALL his words into practice in our daily lives. Daunting for someone like me who barely grew up in the church let alone understood any of it. I was well into my 50's before that started to happen. And now...23 years later, I'm learning from a whole new point of view. YIKES!!!! I'm still pretty p'shat, but, like with anything worth doing, if we keep at it, it WILL make sense.
Thanks for reading this and being a supportive family.
