Airsoft
by Robby Holland
Airsoft is a high speed combat simulation sport, in which players eliminate enemy team players with replicas of real firearms that fire 6mm plastic BBs. Airsoft started as a military training simulation in the late 70's early 80's in Japan. From there it moved to Europe and became a more serious sport with an update in technology. Then when it got to America it absolutely blew up greatly increasing in popularity, now some of the best Airsoft gear now is American.
If you’re looking to get started in Airsoft go to evik as well as airsoft megastore. You should also look at how deeply you want to get into the sport. If you’re just looking to do target practice in your back yard look no farther than the inexpensive spring powered Airsoft or low powered electric ones at either Wal-Mart or Academy, they should be in the twenty to hundred dollar range. But if you’re planning on actually playing the sport with other people in an arena then you should start looking into more intermediate a.e.g.s (airsoft-electric-guns) and co2 powered side arms, they should be in the one hundred ten through one hundred ninety dollar range.
As a general tip the more expensive the gear the higher the quality, but you should get into contact with a local Airsoft dedicated store they should point you in the right direction. If you live within the San Antonio area one of the best Airsoft arena/store is Airsoft revolution 15.
I like the article but, Yardan boys, think David's sling...
