Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch and Western Wall maintenance workers clean the holy site, prior to Rosh Hashanah and remove
#prayer notes left in the cracks of the wall.
Additonally, officials from the Israel Antiques Authority inspect the structural integrity of the wall by checking for cracks and movement in the higher rows of stones.
The prayer notes will be buried on the Mount of Olives along with other religious texts that are no longer in use.
This operation is carried out twice each year, before Passover and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
