  • For step three we are going to introduce the Hebrew suffix pronounced -echa- (ch denotes the soft guttural sound) and notates the possessive English word "your" in the masculine.  For example, the word for home or house is "beyt", when the possessive suffix is added to create "Your House" the hard "B" sound is replaced with a soft "V" and the combined sounds become "veyt-echa". ** Please Note - that we are hyphenating the suffix for identification purposes; this is not to be confused with the actual pronunciation which is much closer to "vey-techa".  Proper pronunciation is best learned by joining in and listening to our live prayer on a regular basis.

  • PLEASE NOTE: the ...  designates the reading direction of the Hebrew words.

  • How goodly are ohal-echa (your tents),  יעקב (Ya'akov),

    mishkenot-echa (Your dwelling places),  ישראל (Yisrael).

    As for me, through chasd-echa (Your abundant kindness) I will enter veyt-echa (Your House);

    I will prostrate myself toward kodsh-echa be'irat-echa (your Holy [your] Sanctuary) in Awe of You.

     יי (Adonai), I love the House where You dwell,

    And the place where kvod-echa (Your glory) resides.

    I shall prostrate myself and bow,

    I shall kneel before  יי (Adonai) my maker.

    As for me, may my prayer  לך (lecha),  יי (Adonai) be favorable;

     אלהים (Elohim), in chasd-echa (Your abundant kindness), answer me with the truth of yish-echa (Your salvation).
