Why are so many DJ's getting into trouble for posting mixes online? Video's are being deleted from YouTube and Soundcloud is deleting entire accounts because of copyright issues.
What are copyrights? To learn more about copyrights please check out the links below. This information is not just relevant for artists and producers, because as a DJ it is a good thing to have a clear understanding of how copyrights work.

To keep it simple, it's all about money. If you didn't make the music you do not own the rights to the music. The owners of the music want to ensure that they don't miss out on any earnings.
If you buy a song and sell that song to 10 people, those 10 people will not go out and buy that song. That means the owners of that song just lost 10 sales.
It's the same with streaming. A lot of people are streaming music in stead of buying it so the artists and labels made deals with the streaming services and now they make (some) money of the streams.
When we (the DJ's) post their music on sites like SoundCloud they are not making money off it because they haven't made deals with SoundCloud (yet). Some of the labels would rather see the people who stream or download our mixes to go stream their music from a source that will make money for them so they will instruct sites like SoundCloud or Youtube to delete your mix.
I also received a question about DJ's needing a license to play in a club. I don't know anything about this and DJ's don't need that here (in The Netherlands), but I did find the following information:
